Meet the Board

The Friends of Pulaski's Board has loved seeing the Pulaski community rally around our beloved school and appreciates all the support.

The Board of Director positions are voted in each June. Responsibilities include attending monthly meetings, researching and voting on expenditure decisions, and communicating with the school administration and Local School Council (LSC).

The Board

Jamie Ayers, Co-President

Jamie and her husband Dustin have been residents of Bucktown since 2008. Jamie has two children at Pulaski. Her daughter Sasha is in 6th grade, and her son Logan is in 4nd grade. Jamie is extremely excited to be a board member of FOP and to give back to the school which has provided a wonderful education and overall experience for both children. Jamie has a B.A from Washington University in St. Louis, and an M.A in Anthropology from the University of Chicago. She puts none of those degrees to use, and since 2003 has been in the business world as the Regional Manager of an architectural stone company, supplying commercial and residential projects all over the City and beyond. They are very proud to be a part of the Pulaski community!

Lezlie Mackie, Volunteer Co-chair

Lezlie and her husband Brett have called Bucktown home since 2007 & Pulaski their school home since 2014. 5 years and 3 kids later they are currently proud Pulaski parents to both a 4th & 1st grader as well as a Preschooler. Lezlie has a BA in Theatre from The Theatre Conservatory at Roosevelt University. After traveling with the international theatre troupe Up With People she spent 5 years in Los Angeles acting and held a 2 year residency with Playhouse West Los Angeles. She now does some of her best work preforming daily in the role of Mom to her 3 equally dramatic children, while also freelancing in creative design & event styling. The wonderful Pulaski community has helped create that same small town feeling Lezlie knew she wanted for her family as she grew up with in Tennessee. The Mackie Family encourages the quickest, easiest & most fun way to join this amazing community is to get curious, get involved and volunteer!

Kellie Rogers, Communications

Kellie lives in Bucktown with her husband, Tim, and their two boys, Dylan and Sion.  Dylan is a second grader at Pulaski, while Sion attends the Pre-K program.

Kellie is the Executive Director of a small nonprofit.  She has a BA from the University of Kansas and is excited for her family to be a part of the Pulaski community.

Bob Fox, Turf Committee Chair

Bob and his wife Natalie moved to Bucktown in 2010 with the intent of sending their children to Pulaski and immediately became involved with the FOP.  He has two children attending Pulaski.

Bob is a Chicago native, leaving only to attend Johns Hopkins University where he studied Writing with a concentration in Film Studies.  After graduation he returned home to Chicago and worked in the Film and Video business for his entire career until somewhat recently.  These days, Bob is very proud to call himself a Stay-Home-Dad.  Fortunately, it’s afforded him the ability to devote even more time to the FOP and Pulaski than before.

You can usually find Bob hanging out with his wife and two boys somewhere in Bucktown, coaching soccer at Holstein Park, attending his eldest’s Track or Cross Country Meets or when he has the time, riding his Harley (unfortunately that seems to be less and less these days).

Bob had been the Volunteer Chair and then Co-Chair for the FOP for 6 years.  But has decided it’s time to pass the baton to the capable hands of parents with younger children who can more easily tap into new blood.

Bob is very excited for the opportunity to take on the new role for the FOP of Turf Campaign Chair.

Michele O'Connor, Volunteer Co-chair

Michele and her husband, Patrick, moved to the Bucktown neighborhood in 2008 while expected their first child and immediately looked to be involved in the Friends of Pulaski.  Michele, an Indiana native, was so excited to have excellent schools in the neighborhood so that her family could remain in the city. Michele and Patrick now have three children, Patrick (5th), Daniel (3rd) and Catherine (1st), The O'Connor family remains thrilled with the school both academically and socially. Michele also spreads this enthusiasm by leading school tours for new and expecting parents.  Michele earned a BA from the School of Public and Environmental Affairs at Indiana University in Bloomington, where her and Patrick first met.  She went on to rise the ranks at Nordstrom, where she set sales records for the departments she ran, which ultimately lead to a position in the buying office.  After the birth of her second child, Michele decided to leave the corporate world to focus on her home life.  Michele is an avid skier, yogi, walker and all-around outdoors person, and seeks as much time at the beach as life will allow, both here in Chicago and Puerto Rico, where her in-laws live.

Leanne Sardiga, Treasurer

Leanne and her husband Chris moved to Bucktown 6 years ago. They have enjoyed being part of the neighborhood ever since, and are excited and proud to send their daughter to Pulaski.  Both Leanne and Chris attended public schools while growing up and believe in the importance of a quality education, grounded in diversity and community involvement.  Leanne graduated from University of Illinois with a degree in Accounting also also holds CPA and CFA designations.  She is a partner at PwC, specializing in M&A, and the Innovation and Technology leader for their Deals practice.  Their family can frequently be seen exploring the neighborhood parks and also enjoy raising vegetables in their background garden to Lauren’s summer farmstand and chocolate zucchini brownie business.  Lauren would like to tell you that she likes Pulaski and her teacher is the best ever.

Melinda Green, Fundraising & Events

Melinda and her husband, Dan, have lived in Bucktown since 2014. They have two daughters, Ella and Lily. Ella is in 2nd grade at Pulaski and Lily is 3 years old. Melinda has a B.A. from DePaul University, previously worked for two non-profits in recruitment, fundraising, and special events and in her spare time is a wedding coordinator. Melinda and Dan currently serve on the Board of Trustees at Holy Trinity High School and have a tremendous passion for inner-city education. Melinda and her family are excited to be a part of the Pulaski community and help support the school in any way possible.

Luann Ray, Co-President, Secretary

Luann has lived in the Bucktown neighborhood for over 15 years and absolutely loves it. She was super excited when she learned that her neighborhood school was Pulaski and her family could stay in the city! Luann and her husband Raj have a 4th grader and 2nd grader at the school and are thrilled with both the academics and the focus on social-emotional intelligence in the curriculum. She studied economics in undergrad and received her MBA at Depaul University. She worked for many years with Raj in sales until changing careers and becoming a Licensed Acupuncturist. She tries to spend as much time outdoors as possible with her kids and is one of those people who actually enjoys a Chicago winter

Scott Suckow, Projects & Procurement

Scott and his wife Melissa established their roots in Bucktown in 2005. He has two daughters and a son.  The daughters are in 5th grade and 3rd grade.  His son graduated from Pulaski last year and is now at Lane Tech.  Scott served as the FOP President for three years.  He has a BS from the University of Illinois and an M.Eng. from M.I.T., both in Structural Engineering. Still looking for a little more student loan debt, he obtained an MBA from Babson College. After running a multi-concept restaurant company for 13 years, Scott is presently taking time off and is back in school at Harvard studying business analytics.
